The James E. Pepper 1776 Rye Sherry Cask Finished is a limited edition whiskey that is finished in sherry casks. This whiskey is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is aged for at least four years in new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in sherry casks for an additional six months. The whiskey has a deep amber color and a nose of dried fruit, baking spices, and oak. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy with notes of caramel, toffee, and baking spices. The finish is long and lingering with a hint of sherry. This whiskey is perfect for sipping neat or in a classic cocktail.
