Jacques was famous for using 100% of whole clusters and 100% new oak. Jeremy and Diana are the first to tell you that adaptation is key. The climate is changing dramatically in Burgundy, and every vintage presents new challenges. Stem use is between 20 and 100%, depending on the vintage and the vineyard. Same goes for oak use. On a visit there last spring Jeremy was excited to show us his concrete egg tanks that were aging the Puligny-Montrachets.

Supple and perfumed, the 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras delivers aromas of plums, raw cocoa, vine smoke, orange rind and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, pure and seamless palate. This will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cras 1er Cru has fine intensity on the nose with brambly red berry fruit, loam, and light rose petal aromas. This blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, and the stem addition here comes across more strongly than the Village Cru on the entry (even though Jeremy Seysses said he probably de-stemmed a little more with that in mind). Its overtly peppery, well-structured, and quite mineral-driven on the finish. This is the best of Dujac’s ngoce wines and should give 12 to 15 years of drinking pleasure.
