Notedincanto Brunello is a private, restaurant-only bottling made by the famed Tenuta di Sesta. The Ciacci family has owned Tenuta di Sesta since 1850, and began bottling Brunello in 1966 when there were only 12 producers bottling wine labeled as Brunello di Montalcino. Being one of the original families in the region with 33 acres dedicated to Brunello production, they have deep roots in Montalcino. When their US importer requested that they produce a special, private label Brunello to be sold specifically to restaurants, they were not anticipating the mass-disruption of the nation’s restaurants and were left with a surplus of premium wine from one of the regions greatest recent vintages.
