94 POINTS: VINOUS – The 2019Pinot Noir Mae Estate Vineyard CP is another gorgeous wine from Justin Willett’s new Mae Estate. Here Willett put together a blend of four barrels from the portion of the vineyard where he used some whole clusters (most of the Pinot from Mae was destemmed in 2019). Because of the stem influence, the CP is quite a bit more aromatic and perfumed than the regular bottling. Silky tannins and lifted floral top notes lend presence and class. This is such a pretty, super- expressive Pinot.Quite frankly, I was blown away, especially considering that the vines are just a few years old. As always, the Tyler wines show a light hand and plenty of site expression. Whole clusters are in the 33-50% range, except in younger vineyards, where Willett prefers to de-stem. I cant recommend these wines highly enough. –Antonio Galloni
