Peter Jakob Kuhn Riesling Oestrich Quartzit 2021

The Oestricher Quarzit has its origins in the Oestricher Doosberg, Klosterberg and Lenchen locations. In the soil there is humus and partly clayey loess loam, which is interspersed with gray quartzite. The water flow in the Doosberg is optimal. The roots of the vines receive enough moisture and can still adequately supply the grapes even in the hot summer months.

Information about expansion
100% hand picking, gentle whole grape pressing, spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, aging on the full yeast until the end of March in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks.

Color
Bright lemon yellow with green reflections.

Nose
The 2021 Riesling Quartzit exudes coolness, precision and freshness on the nose. Citrus, lime, green apple, but also quince and bergamot dance the dance, underpinned by the typical earthy, spicy and mineral components that we know from Khn.

Palate
On the palate it provides invigorating freshness thanks to the complex acidity, which is beautifully embedded in the fruit melt. Its earthy and yeasty nature gives it complexity and makes it the perfect accompaniment to food. A wine that impresses with crystalline clarity and that will age wonderfully.
