Aux Thorey is a Premier Cru vineyard situated on the hill above the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy. The southeast-facing climat has an excellent terroir for Pinot Noir, to which it is planted, and gives a wine that is rich and structured with spicy, floral overtones, but which has more elegance than is usually associated with Nuits-Saint-Georges wines.

The five hectare (12 acre) vineyard is in the northern part of the Nuits-Saint-Georges commune, resting on a spur overlooking the town as the Cte d’Or slope turns west up the narrow valley of the Meuzin river. The southeast aspect of the vineyard has been compared to that of the superlative Clos Saint-Jacques vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, 10km (6 miles) to the north.

The Aux Thorey (sometimes written “Aux Torey”) vineyard, which also contains a walled section known as “Clos de Thorey”, is bordered to the west by the Aux Argillas sites (Premier Cru below, village-level above), with Aux Bousselots, Aux Chaignots and Aux Champs Perdrix Premiers Crus running from southeast to northeast respectively.
