The Sandpiper range is named after the migratory bird which visits the Thorn-Clarke vineyards annually from the northern hemisphere – something of a reminder of the tenacity and commitment which is required for long term viticulture. The aroma is fresh lifted lemon. Bright ripe lemon fruit characters dominate the palate and crisp minerally acid forms the backbone of the wine. The palate has rich citrus flavours, balanced by natural acidi-ty and intense flavour. The wine has a refreshingly clean finish with long acid persis-tence.
